HOW TO USE

Yes — both packs are designed for hot and cold use, so you only need the one product. A helpful way to think about it: cold calms, warmth opens.

For the perineal pack, cold is best in the first 48–72 hours after birth to reduce swelling and ease soreness. Gentle warmth can be comforting once the initial swelling has settled. For the breast pack, use warmth before or during a feed to encourage milk flow, and cold after a feed to relieve engorgement or inflammation.

If you're unsure which therapy is right for your recovery, your midwife or healthcare provider is the best person to guide you.

10–15 minutes at a time is the general guide. Allow your skin to return to its natural temperature before reapplying, and avoid using the packs while sleeping. Little and often tends to work better than one long session.

If you experience any increased pain, numbness, or skin changes during use, remove the pack and consult your midwife or GP.

To cool: Place in the freezer for at least 1–2 hours. We recommend getting a couple in the freezer from around 36 weeks so they're ready when you need them.

To warm: Heat one gel pad only in the microwave. After heating, test the temperature with your hands before use. Apply to the desired area for up to 15 minutes. 700W: 15 seconds. 1000W: 13 seconds. 1250W: 10 seconds.

Always test the temperature on your inner wrist first — it should feel comfortably warm, never hot. Never apply a pack straight from the freezer or microwave directly to your skin. Always use a cloth barrier or the cover provided.
